One of the best compliments I’ve received […] is that my drawing disappears in the service of the narrative. I like to disappear. […] At first I idolised virtuoso artists like Moebius. But comics are a combination of literature, film and drawing, and you realise that the drawing is fine, but it’s more important that the narrative can be followed in a fluid way.
