The Karaboudjan was an interesting one. The perceived wisdom for many years has been that Hergé based it on a ship called the Glengarry. In fact, we discovered it was based on one of Glengarry’s three sister ships called the Glenshield. The hulls are the same on all four ships but the silhouette and topsides are slightly different.
