Hergé
Les aventures de Tintin: Le crabe aux pinces d’or
1943 book edition in colour published by Casterman

The ‘Karaboudjan’ was an interesting one. The perceived wisdom for many years has been that Hergé based it on a ship called the ‘Glengarry’. In fact, we discovered it was based on one of ‘Glengarry”s three sister ships called the ‘Glenshield’. The hulls are the same on all four ships but the silhouette and topsides are slightly different.
